" Jambo " The Gorilla

" Jambo " The Gorilla.

The idea for this work started 12 months ago. I wanted to design an eye catcher, a large artwork that combines positivity and power: Meet Jambo.

In Swahili, "Jambo" means "hello." But the name carries more than a greeting. This work is inspired by the real-life gorilla Jambo—a hero who made headlines when a child fell into her zoo enclosure. Instead of harm, she shielded the child, embodying protection and love.

The artwork is still in concept design and not final yet. Currently standing 4 meters tall (157 inches) and 2.8 meters wide (110 inches), Jambo is a tribute to heroism, and a celebration of compassion.
